Overview

Tacos D Amor, nestled in Louisville’s Glenmary neighborhood, presents a vibrant take on Mexican cuisine, serving up a hearty selection of tacos and traditional favorites in a spacious, welcoming setting. Located in what used to be a golf clubhouse, the restaurant combines charm with a lively atmosphere that appeals to families, groups, and casual diners alike.

The menu leans heavily into classic Mexican flavors—think al pastor, birria, and cochinita pibil tacos—offering both familiar comfort and crafted authenticity. Starters like Elotes del Barrio and Empanadas bring robust textures and bold seasoning to the table, while their unique offerings such as ChoriQueso and house-made Pork Skin Nachos add creative regional flair. Their beverage lineup complements the food well, particularly the frozen margaritas and a variety of Mexican sodas.

Visitors consistently highlight the friendly, attentive service and the upbeat, community-driven vibe fueled by weekly live music and trivia nights. Although busy weekends can test the pace, the staff’s dedication shines through, ensuring food arrives promptly and the atmosphere stays inviting. Families especially appreciate the kid-friendly menu options and welcoming environment.

While some longtime taco enthusiasts have noted occasional inconsistency in certain dishes—particularly with the asada taco—the overall experience remains positive. The large, clean space and cordial ambiance make it suitable for both casual dining and events. Affordable pricing paired with a broad menu ensures there is something for every palate, reinforcing Tacos D Amor’s place as a neighborhood favorite in Louisville’s Mexican dining scene.

Whether you’re in search of an authentic taco experience or a fun, vibrant spot to unwind with friends and family, Tacos D Amor delivers with heart and flavor down to every detail.

Food was pretty dang good. Had a large party and ordered take away. Veggie and live burrito were awesome. Shrimp, fish tacos very good. Chicken, brisket and steak tacos very tasty. Prices very reasonable. Didn't eat in but the place is super nice and in the old clubhouse from the golf course. Would eat there again!

the only reason I’m putting 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the customers… we had a pleasant experience with the staff and service for a busy Friday Night (with live music!). As a taco aficionado, the food was very good! also the frozen margaritas great! I will say if you plan on visiting on a weekend, please show some patience with the employees. We seriously witnessed 4 different customers talk down to the staff (including the hostess, a teenager) and complain for very small inconveniences. The entire patio was packed for the music commonly makes sense the staff was spread thin. Regardless we enjoyed the food and will check out some of the other locations as well! Thank you

The Al pastor tacos were good. The size of the order of guacamole was not a good value, the guac was yummy but comes in a tiny dish with a ton of chips. The birria taco was good, and the conchinita pibil taco was delicious. Unfortunately, the asada taco meat was the worst I’ve ever had and I couldn’t even eat it. I love asada it’s usually the easy go-to because I know I like it, so I was shocked and disappointed with this. I probably won’t be back just because the value here is missing and there are so many better / more consistent options for tacos in Louisville. I would consider this spot for an event though, as the place itself is a very nice spacious & clean building. Our server was holding it down being the only server present midday.

My husband and I ate here and really enjoyed everything. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff was nice, our server was amazing and the food was delicious. Other than being off the main path in a neighborhood, no complaints here. Highly recommend. We will be back!

I ordered 3 street tacos. Carne, chorizo, and Singapore. All were almost perfect. I wish rhe chef would have warmed and slightly browned the second corn taco shell on each taco. That seem like they were steamed or microwaved. The server was AMAZING! I have already recommended it to my friends.
